Release notes 104 - March 2024

Learners - Keyboard accessibility (WCAG)

  • Improved: Improvements have been made to enhance keyboard accessibility for five activity types:

    • The Hand-in and video hand-in assignments, SCORM, webinar and external activities.


Learners - Screen reader accessibility (WCAG)

  • Improved: Improvements have been made to various elements regarding screen reader accessibility.

    • Buttons, tabs, text fields, checkboxes, and radio buttons are now accessible for screen reading services.

    • These improvements have been applied to all elements on the login page, including the footer as well.

    • Among other things, the alerts, course tiles, and filters on the homepage are also accessible for screen reading services.


Content - Selecting questions and content parts based on the attached tags

  • Improved: Finding and selecting content for various places has been made easier by adding the option to filter based on tags.

    • A tag filter and column have now been added to many content part selection pop-ups.

    • As well for:

      • The ‘content management’ tab within the template;

      • Adding extra questions (within the activities) to the MemoTraining;

      • Adding questions to the ‘exercise’ widget;

      • Selecting existing content libraries for new surveys;

      • Lastly, selecting questions and content parts for surveys.


Event - Notification prior to the event

  • Added: The ability to automatically notify learners and instructors a few days before the start of the event.

    • The default is set to 2 days prior to the event, but you can change this for each event to your own preferences (in days or weeks).

    • The message of the email notification can be adjusted by tenant users.

      • Furthermore, you can also add a specific message for each event.


LTI - Integration with LTI platform in version 1.3

  • Added: You can play external content from LTI tool providers in your aNewSpring environment using LTI version 1.3.

    • In January, we released the LTI tool integration already. This time it’s the other end.

    • All possibilities available with version 1.1 as the consumer are also available with version 1.3.

    • You can configure with other LTI tool providers via the environment settings.


Statistics - Exporting statistics on assessment results

  • Added: The ability to gain insights about the assessment results by creating an export.

    • You can create and export statistics for each assessment, per template, including the following data:

      • Correct count

      • Incorrect count

      • Total count

      • P-value

      • RIT-value 

      • RIR-value


Certificate - Certificate code for the external ID of the course

Note: This feature is already available

  • Added: You can now automatically add the external ID of the course to the certificate using the certificate code 'courseExternalID'.
